What to Know About Women’s Basketball Today
1. The Triple-Double Queen Strikes Again 💪
Another game, another triple-double. Alyssa Thomas went back-to-back this week with a 10-10-10 outing on Sunday in Phoenix’s win over Chicago, then followed it up with a 13-12-12 performance Tuesday in a win over the Sun. (Fox Sports)
WHY IT MATTERS: Thomas now has 18 career triple-doubles, more than 4x the next closest player (Sabrina Ionescu, with four). In fact, AT has recorded over one-third of all triple-doubles in WNBA history.
This is her third triple-double this season, and the second time in her career she’s posted them in back-to-back games. The 6x All-Star continues to make a strong MVP case for this season.

2. New Docuseries on Diana Taurasi Drops Today 🎬
WNBA icon Diana Taurasi is stepping back into the spotlight. A new three-part docuseries, Taurasi, premieres today on Amazon Prime, offering a raw, behind-the-scenes look at her legendary journey from UConn to WNBA and overseas dominance. (CT Insider)
WHY IT MATTERS: Fans are familiar with sports documentaries, but rarely do they feature a female athlete. Taurasi is more than deserving of the star treatment, having amassed one of the most successful careers in the sport ever. This is a rare chance to see one of the greatest open up about her 20+ year career, in her own words.

3. A’ja Wilson Hits 500 Career Blocks 😤
In the Aces’ win over the Valkyries on Wednesday night, A’ja Wilson added another milestone to her legendary résumé: her 500th career block. She’s just the 10th player in WNBA history to hit that mark—and the 5th-fastest ever to get there. (Sports Illustrated)
WHY IT MATTERS: There’s no one quite like A’ja Wilson on defense. Her ability to protect the rim and alter shots has made her a two-time Defensive Player of the Year and one of the most feared defenders in the league. This season she’s leading the WNBA with 2.3 blocks per game, making her a strong candidate for another DPOY nod, and strengthening her case for MVP.
OVERTIME ⏱️
Rookie Down: Paige Bueckers is listed as day-to-day after suffering back tightness during the Wings’ loss to New York Tuesday night.
White Carpet: Amazon rolled out a white carpet at the Taurasi premiere, featuring a list of her career accolades.
She’s Pretty Good: Speaking of Alyssa Thomas, you can show your love for AT with this fun T-shirt.*
