What To Know About Women’s Basketball Today

1. Fever Sell Out Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Minutes 🎟️

If you wanted to see Caitlin Clark back in Iowa this spring, you had to act fast. Tickets for the Indiana Fever’s WNBA preseason game against the Brazilian National Team on May 4th at Carver-Hawkeye Arena went on sale Thursday morning—and all 15,000 seats were gone in just 45 minutes. (HawkCentral)

WHY IT MATTERS: Love for Caitlin Clark is alive and well in Iowa. Fans wasted no time securing their chance to see her return to Iowa City, where she became a generational basketball sensation. If you missed out, resale is your only option, but it won’t be cheap. As of Thursday evening, the lowest-priced ticket on StubHub was going for $518.

2. Unrivaled Inks Licensing Deal with WNBA Players’ Union ✒️

Unrivaled has secured a key licensing agreement with the WNBA Players Association (WNBPA), allowing the new 3×3 league to produce official player-specific merchandise. Since all Unrivaled athletes are also WNBA players, this deal opens the door for the league to create and sell jerseys and other merch featuring its biggest stars. (Front Office Sports)

WHY IT MATTERS: Unlike most professional leagues, Unrivaled doesn’t have city-based teams—fans follow their favorite players instead. But until now, the league couldn’t fully capitalize on its stars through player-branded gear. With this deal, Unrivaled can now monetize players' names, images, and likenesses, creating a new revenue stream. Don’t be surprised if you start seeing Angel Reese Rose BC jerseys soon.
