What to Know About Women’s Basketball Today
1. Nike Drops Caitlin Clark’s New Signature Logo 👟
Caitlin Clark’s highly anticipated Nike logo is finally here. A teaser video dropped Monday showing the new design, with the first logo tee arriving in September. More gear—including on-court essentials and premium apparel—will release October 1. Clark’s signature shoe and full collection are set to launch in 2026. (Nike)
WHY IT MATTERS: One week after being drafted as the overall first pick in 2024, Clark signed an eight-year, $28M deal with Nike, the most lucrative endorsement in women’s hoops history at the time. She was also hands-on in the logo design process. It features two interwoven Cs to symbolize her global fan connection, with a hidden inner C representing her game built from the inside out.

2. Chicago Sky Retire Candace Parker’s Jersey 🎽
Candace Parker’s jersey has gone to the rafters for a second time this summer. After her Sparks jersey was retired in June, the Chicago Sky honored her Monday night at halftime of their game vs. the Aces. (USA Today)
WHY IT MATTERS: Parker only played two seasons with the Sky (2021-2022), but her impact was massive, delivering the franchise’s first and only WNBA championship in 2021. The 2x MVP and 7x All-Star now joins Lindsay Whalen as the only WNBA players with jerseys retired by multiple teams.

3. Hamby & Stockton Headed to Wake Forest HOF 🏆
Wake Forest University announced its 2026 Hall of Fame class, and two women’s basketball stars are in. Dearica Hamby and Lisa Stockton will be officially inducted. (Wake Forest University)
WHY IT MATTERS: Hamby dominated at Wake Forest, leaving as the all-time leader in points and rebounds before becoming a 3x WNBA All-Star. Stockton was another standout player, ranking top 10 in multiple career categories, before spending 30 years building Tulane into a powerhouse and becoming the winningest coach in Conference USA history.
Women make up fewer than 20% of Wake Forest’s Hall of Fame inductees. These two are certainly deserving of this recognition, and their inclusion is long overdue.
