What to Know About Women’s Basketball Today
1. WNBA Finals Game 4 Tonight 🏆
The Phoenix Mercury host a must-win Game 4 tonight as the Las Vegas look to complete the sweep. A’ja Wilson’s clutch shot with seconds left sealed Game 3, putting the Aces up 3-0 and one win away from another title. (Reuters)
📺 Game 4: Tonight, 8:00 PM ET, ESPN
WHY IT MATTERS: A win tonight would give the Aces their third championship in four years, cementing their dynasty status. For Phoenix, it’s win-or-go-home — and they’ll have to do it without Satou Sabally, sidelined with a concussion suffered in Game 3. Expect a desperate, physical battle in front of a loud home crowd.

2. A New International League Is Coming 🌏
A new international women’s basketball league — codenamed “Project B” — is in the works. The plan: six teams, 11 players each, competing in seven tournaments across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. (The Athletic)
WHY IT MATTERS: The WNBA offseason just got a lot more interesting. Project B aims to create new, high-paying opportunities for women to play professionally. The league is led by 4x WNBA All-Star Alana Beard as Chief Basketball Officer and backed by investors including Candace Parker, with launch targeted for next fall. Launching with women first (and considering a men’s league later) shows just how much business momentum the women’s game now carries.

3. USC’s Jazzy Davidson Tops ESPN’s Freshman Watch 👏
ESPN named USC’s Jazzy Davidson as the top freshman expected to make an immediate impact this college season. She’s joined by Blanco Quiñonez (UConn) at No. 2 and Emilee Skinner (Duke) at No. 3, with three Stanford rookies also making the list.
WHY IT MATTERS: Bookmark these names now — you’ll be hearing about them all season. Davidson headlines a new wave of freshman poised to shake up college basketball from day one.
