What to Know About Women’s Basketball Today
1. Paige Bueckers Named Rookie of the Year 🪣
It’s official: Dallas Wings guard and 2025 No. 1 overall pick Paige Bueckers is your WNBA Rookie of the Year. She claimed 70 of 72 votes from the national media panel. (WNBA)
WHY IT MATTERS: This year’s rookie class was stacked. Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen both set new franchise records in Washington. But, Bueckers’ dominance stood out and her selection was near unanimous. She led all rookies in points and assists per game and broke the single-game rookie scoring record with 44 points.

2. Fever and Storm Fight Back to Force Game 3 💪
Round one of this year’s playoffs is serving the thrills. On Tuesday, both Indiana and Seattle evened up their series to set up winner-take-all Game 3s. The Fever rolled past Atlanta in dominant fashion, while the Storm snapped Vegas’ win streak with a nail-biter. (WNBA)
WHY IT MATTERS: The new 1-1-1 format is doing exactly what it was designed to—turning Round 1 into must-watch basketball. With their backs against the wall, both Indiana and Seattle fed off their home crowds to upset the higher seeds.
Tonight, Golden State hopes to mirror Indiana and Seattle by forcing a Game 3 in Minnesota, while Phoenix fights to reclaim home court advantage after being upset by New York last Sunday.

3. Tina Charles Signs With Athletes Unlimited 🖌️
Athletes Unlimited (AU) just landed a legend: Tina Charles will suit up for the AU season in Nashville next season. (Athletes Unlimited)
WHY IT MATTERS: Charles has nothing left to prove—15 WNBA seasons, three Olympic gold medals, and the league’s all-time rebounding record. Yet her move to AU shows she’s not done adding to story. For AU, bringing in a player of her caliber is a huge win.
