What to Know About Women’s Basketball Today
1. Twelve Athletes Selected for USA Basketball 3x3 Development Camp 🇺🇸
USA Basketball has named 12 standout athletes to participate in its 2025 Women’s 3×3 Development Camp, taking place April 28–30 in Phoenix. The roster includes a mix of collegiate stars and pros, with names like MiLaysia Fulwiley, Zee Spearman, Taylor Jones, and Mikayla Williams among the invitees.
WHY IT MATTERS: USA Basketball’s 3×3 women’s program was the first to win Olympic gold when the event debuted in 2020. After settling for bronze in Paris 2024, the program is focused on returning to the top. This camp is a key part of that effort, offering high-level athletes a chance to sharpen the unique skills required in 3×3 play. Performances here can earn future opportunities with the national team or on the FIBA 3×3 pro circuit.

2. WNBA All-Star Game Sells Out in Just Hours 🔥
Tickets for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game went on sale Tuesday and sold out within hours. This year’s All-Star Weekend will take place July 18–19 in Indianapolis, home to the Indiana Fever. (WNBA)
WHY IT MATTERS: A sell-out in Indy was expected, but the speed of the sellout speaks volumes about the momentum behind the WNBA. With stars like Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell likely representing the Fever as All-Stars, Indiana fans are eager to see their hometown talent on full display.
As of this writing, limited tickets are still available for the 3-Point Contest and Skills Challenge, where hopefully Clark will make her WNBA 3-point contest debut.

3. Tampa Drew 22,000+ Fans During Women’s Final Four 👀
The city of Tampa showed up big for this year’s Women’s Final Four. According to city officials, over 22,000 fans attended “Tourney Town,” the NCAA’s official fan festival during championship weekend in early April. The estimated economic impact? A whopping $30 million. (Tampa.gov)
WHY IT MATTERS: Women’s basketball is an economic engine, which brands are taking notice of, and now cities are too. With packed events and big spending, hosting the Women’s Final Four offers serious upside for local economies. Expect to see more cities throwing their hats in the ring to host future NCAA and WNBA events.
