WHY IT MATTERS: Both players are off to hot starts the season, fueling their respective squads to undefeated starts—New York (4–0) and Minnesota (5–0).

2. Angel Reese Hits 500/500 Milestone Faster Than Anyone Ever 🤯

Angel Reese has officially become the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 500 points and 500 rebounds, doing it in just 38 games. That beats the previous record of 44 games, held by 2012 WNBA MVP Tina Charles. (Sports Illustrated)

WHY IT MATTERS: Points and rebounds are key statistics for forward players like Reese because they reflect an ability to score and secure more possessions. Reese finished second in the W in rebounding last year and is averaging a 14.0 rebounds so far this season.

3. Chicago Sky to Retire Candace Parker’s Jersey 3️⃣

The Chicago Sky announced they’ll retire Candace Parker’s No. 3 jersey on August 25, 2025, in a ceremony at the team’s home game against the Las Vegas Aces. (Chicago Sky)

WHY IT MATTERS: Parker is one of the most accomplished players in WNBA history. After 13 seasons with the Sparks, the Naperville native returned home in 2021 with one mission: to bring a championship to her city. Mission accomplished. She led the Sky to their first-ever title that season.
